Sheffield International Artist's Book Prize 2015

The Sheffield International Artist’s Book Prize is organized by and held at Bank Street Arts in Sheffield. As a hybrid Arts Centre, keen to encourage multi-disciplinary work, artist’s books are a natural area of interest for all those involved with the organization. The Prize was originally a response to the challenge to find an appropriate context for showing artist’s books and one that would fit with the Centre’s aims of innovation and inclusivity.

                                                             Tiles everywhere, 2015

Mixed media. Photography of different tiles - creating a composition of clothes and a painel transfered to a canvas. Drawing with stylo on Eva's of a portuguese facade and a 3D  drying rack. And a story must be told: Seeing through. Porto, the city, the books, the maps, the poems, the people, the views, the belvederes, the alleys, the “around the corner”, the stories, the words and all colours. The white. Blue, yellow, some red, pink, ochre, green, grey. The façades, doors wide open, windows with clotheslines, the gossipers, the neighbours, the living street. Tiles everywhere.
